Dance Styles

Dance Styles We Offer

At Kerry Moore School of Dance, we believe every child can shine in their own unique way. That’s why we offer a wide variety of dance styles, from the timeless to the trendy. Whether your dancer wants to shuffle, twirl, leap, or express emotion through movement, there’s a place for them here.

KMSD Kids – Age 4

Our youngest dancers to take the stage!   KMSD Kids will learn to work in the dance class setting.  They will learn rhythm and beginner movements with fun music and imagination.  KMSD Kids will perform at the P&H Centre in June!

Tap – Ages: 5+

Rhythmic, energetic, and just plain fun! Tap teaches timing, coordination, and musicality as dancers create sounds with their feet. It’s a crowd-pleaser and a confidence booster.

Ballet – Ages: 5+

The foundation of all dance. Ballet develops grace, strength, and discipline. Our classes blend tradition with age-appropriate technique in a nurturing environment.

Pointe – 12+ (with teacher approval)

Jazz – Ages: 5+

Think high energy and big personality! Jazz blends sharp technique with powerful movement and expressive flair. Perfect for dancers who love to perform.

Hip Hop – Ages: 5+

Street style with swagger! Hip Hop classes are upbeat, athletic, and all about confidence and style. No tutus here—just pure, positive energy.

Highland – Ages: 5+
Levels: Beginner to Competitive

A nod to tradition! Highland dancing blends athleticism with Scottish heritage. Our classes cover traditional dances with a modern twist for younger dancers.

Musical Theatre – Ages: 7+

Where Broadway meets the studio! These classes combine jazz technique with acting and lip-syncing to bring characters and stories to life on stage.

Modern – Ages: 9+

Grounded and expressive, Modern dance explores fluid movement, emotion, and connection to music. Ideal for dancers ready to dive deeper into storytelling through dance.

Contemporary – Ages: 16+
Levels: Senior level dancers

A beautiful fusion of ballet, modern, and jazz. Contemporary encourages creativity and emotional expression, making it a favorite for teen dancers.
